Meet the Owners: John & Maria Georgiou
Bringing puppy love to one of the greatest outdoor cities in the U.S., Savannah, GA 🌴🐶
For John and Maria, Salty Paws isn’t just a business. It’s a full-circle moment wrapped in peanut butter and topped with biscuit crumbles.
Growing up, John wanted to be a veterinarian. Life had other plans. He built an entire career in retail, leading teams, building brands, and serving customers. But that soft spot for animals? It never clocked out. Years later, standing under palm trees instead of fluorescent lights, he’s finally found a way to blend business savvy with a lifelong love of dogs.
Maria is the heartbeat behind the smiles. A true people person, she has spent her career in training and development, helping others grow and succeed. If there’s a conversation happening near the truck, Maria’s in it. If there’s a dog nearby, she’s already kneeling down for ear scratches. She has a gift for turning quick hellos into real connections.
Married for 28 years, John and Maria have shared life with some unforgettable fur babies along the way:
Chewbacca (aka Chewy), Chica, Chicken, and Chesterfield (aka Chester). Each one left pawprints on their hearts and helped inspire this next adventure.
Savannah is made for dogs and the humans who adore them. From strolls through Forsyth Park to waterfront sunsets and patio brunches, this is a city that lives outside. Salty Paws Savannah is here to make those moments even sweeter.
Salty Paws is the first mobile ice cream shop created especially for dogs. We serve fresh, handmade ice cream treats crafted just for pups, complete with fun toppings, pastries, bones, and toys made especially for our four-legged VIPs.
Whether your pup is craving a peanut butter ice cream with a savory crumble topping or something light and fruity like a watermelon crush made with fresh seedless watermelon, we’ve got something tail-thumping good. Need a sugar-free option? We have those too. Pup can’t make it to the truck? No problem. We offer take-home treats so you can create the celebration at home.
There’s no way to fully repay our dogs for their loyalty, comic relief, and unconditional love. But a cup of specialty dog-friendly ice cream on a warm Savannah afternoon feels like a pretty good start.
